Who do you think you are? I ask this question not to be rude or intrusive. I ask this question so that you can really think about how you see yourself and how others view you. This is an important question to answer because it will help you to develop the quality of work that you submit. You should be proud to adorn this work with your name, which is your individual brand.
Have you noticed that there are various designer products on the market that bear the name on the designer who made it? The designer is so proud of that product and believes in it so much that they are willing to place their name on it. This is true in the fashion industry, just as it is in the business world when individuals put their names on important contracts and documents. This can also be true for you when you take pride in your work, no matter your industry is.
How you create an image or a brand for yourself is how people will see you. Also know that a brand is not a logo but, it is how others remember you and recognize your product. Thus, when you brand yourself, you have created an image of your character that others will see as consistent with your work. So, when people see or hear you, they will think of integrity and honesty. In turn, when you submit your work, they will be assured to receive quality.
Therefore, branding yourself is essential to the foundation of developing a quality product. The quality product is a direct result of all your hard work. Your brand is the evidence that you not only care about yourself, you care about the quality of the work that you submit.
So, the next time you do any work, think about the quality and then ask yourself: are you willing to brand it with your name?
