When thinking of a possible career, think of things that you love to do. Also, think of the possible occupations (jobs) that fall under what you love to do. It’s also a good idea to keep your options open and have multiple career interests, just in case one doesn’t work out.
For example, a number of us love sports (basketball, football, baseball, hockey, etc.) but, only a few actually make it to the pros. Many may not notice alternate careers in sports, such as coaching, training, general managing, and operations, which all still involve working in the field. In addition, a number of folks may be interested in becoming lawyers but, they have not made a decision on a specific type of law to practice (entertainment, insurance, criminal, or personal Injury).
Generally speaking, we would all love to have money coming from different ways. My suggestion is to KEEP YOUR OPTIONS OPEN, and to focus on the possible careers that fit what you love to do. Most importantly, choose a career that you could see yourself doing for more than 25 years.

I think this is a great point. A lot of kids want to be the next big sports superstar. While we are told we can do anything (which is absolutely correct), we tend to ignore any other career possibilities. Growing up, I never imagined I would be in the career field that I am in now. I always wanted to be a cop. Then I became involved in another area of Security where I enjoy what I do and have become successful. All of this is because I opened my eyes to other opportunities and turned off the “tunnel vision”. There are so many different career paths out there. Keep and open mind find a career you fall in love with.
